Named to: JAMES KEY, 2nd EURN. BENGAL FUSRS (Two letters in the name have been removed and Y then engraved, I suspect his name was mis-spelt ‘Keary’ and later corrected. There is no other name on the roll that could have been altered in any way. James Key was Killed in Action Delhi on 14.09.1857….

Two clasps CANTON 1867, TAKAU FORTS 1858, unnamed as issued. Very Fine condition.

Embossed naming on reverse – 235 J. WHITE 1ST BATTN. 4TH THE K.O.R. REGT. (King’s Own Royal Regiment, Lancaster. John White was in the campaign to “pacify” King Theodore, with a march of 600 miles to destroy Magdala & return without casualties under Major F Roberts, later Lord Roberts of Kandahar). Very Fine condition.
